Seeing as the name of this blog has clearly taken inspiration from the channel 4 program Grand Designs, I thought it would be only right to use it as a source of inspiration for posts, so here goes;
The Arch House, series 7 episode 11 is perhaps my favourite Grand Design of all time. Aside from the fact that the couple creating this house seemed like genuinely nice normal people - not the crazed controlling millionaires at one end of the spectrum or the totally un-organised, un-funded people at the other, who they usually have on the program - it was a beautiful, practical and innovative piece of architecture, the centerpiece of the house being the painstakingly crafted tiled arch that encompassed the structure.
I could go on and on about this house instead I shall say that you should go and watch the episode on 4oD though rather shit-aly they have taken this particular episode down, along with the films of my 2 other favourite builds from this series. Bastards.
